MU Licensing & Trademarks (LT) exists to protect and promote the indicia (marks, names, logos) of the University of Missouri-Columbia.
LT was established in 1983 and is currently administered under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services.
Through a partnership with the Collegiate Licensing Company, LT monitors commercial and internal use of MU indicia, and is responsible for managing more than 300 licensees producing products bearing MU's indicia.
Individuals, groups and organizations, both on and off campus, seeking to use MU indicia must have prior approval from LT.
